How To Uninstall an App on Your iPhone

Anyone who owns a smartphone device has their own scrunchie apps they love and use. There is also an instance where we download and install apps we want to try out or apps we use for a while after which we forget that they exist on our phones.

If you have an iPhone or iPad that has a limited storage space, monitor the apps you have and those that you use. If you fail to do so, the number of apps on our smartphones can accumulate quickly and will leave no storage space for other stuff like your vacation pictures or the next trending music.

Here are 3 ways to uninstall an app from your iPhone.

  1. Using the Home Screen

This is the quickest and easiest way to uninstall apps from an iPhone. On your phone, go to your home screen and look for the app that you want to remove. After that, tap and hold it for a short while.

You will notice all the icons on the screen wiggling. Each app you can uninstall has a small “X” button on its top-left corner. Tap the “X” button on the app you want to uninstall.

Your iPhone asks you if you are sure you want to uninstall that app. If you are sure to remove it, tap Delete and the app is gone. If not, press Cancel.

  1. Using the Settings

You can also make use of the Settings app to uninstall apps from an iPhone. Go to the home screen and tap on the Settings.

In the Settings menu, tap on General.

Then, tap on the iPhone Storage

On the iPhone Storage display, your smartphone will inform you how much space an app takes up.

Scroll through until you find the app you want to remove and tap it.

On the app’s storage display, locate the button called “Delete App”. Then tap on it.

Your iPhone asks you to confirm if you want to delete the app. Tap “Delete App” again, and the app is uninstalled right away.

  1. Using iTunes 12.6.3

The recent version of iTunes, 12.7, does not allow you to see or manage the apps found on your iPhone. Though, the previous version, iTunes 12.6.3 offers these features.

But fortunately, now you can download and install it on your Windows PC to uninstall apps from your iPhone.

To download iTunes 12.6.3, use these links:

Once you installed iTunes 12.6.3 on your Windows PC, open it and connect your iPhone to your computer, using its USB cable. Wait for a few minutes until your PC establishes the connection. After that, in iTunes, look for the small icon that signifies your iPhone on the top-left area of the screen.

On the left side, click on Apps.

On the right wing of the window, iTunes loads interactive images of the home screens and app folders from your iPhone or iPad.

Double-tap the home screen or the app folder you want to uninstall is located.

Point your mouse cursor on the app you want to uninstall, and you will see a small “X” icon is displayed on the app’s top-left corner.

Click the “X” button, and the app’s icon is removed. If you want to uninstall more apps, you can repeat the process.

After you are done, you must also apply the changes. Then, click or tap on the Apply button from the bottom-right corner of the iTunes window.

After that, iTunes will ask you if you are sure you want to uninstall the app(s) from your iPhone. Click Remove if you are sure, and the apps are uninstalled quickly.
